What seems to be the mistake! Make? Model? You may find different ammo works better ?
I own a Ruger and am not sorry in the least, I shoot Winchester Supremes hollow point for Beaver and find them excellent . Other brands were not as good.

I shoot a Marlin 22 mag. bolt that I got from Wholesale Sports. I really like it.

I use Remington Premium. They are a lead tipped bullet. I tried hollow point and FMJ and did not care for them.

Berh307, find yourself another gunsmith. What you describe ( rag in barrel ) should not be difficult to correct with the proper tools.
Good luck.

I think a good gun smith will do the trick.
Have him take the barrel off if need be , Then you need to disolve the rag, that will likely allow for the rod to be pressed out.
PHONE ; RON SMITH @ wimbourne , alberta,403-631-2405
or Dave Henry Bently AL 403-748-3030
IF neither of those two know what to do , pray

Hey thank you I call those guys and see what they can do for me ... I was out having breakfast this moring talking to a guy I know and telling him about this gun. He figures he can get it out by using an acid that would take care of the rag. ( He owns a machine shop) He told me he uses the acid for etching alunim(sic) I figure that should soften the alunim (sic) clean rod as well. He said he make a stainless steel rod and be able to press the problem out.. I think it sounds good !!!

Thank you guys for you comment and suggestions !!

If you do try tapping it out with a rod use a really good lubricant. A product called " Move It" I find is far superior to WD40.
