I have picked up a Savage Model 1911 from a fella who was dispersing his firearms. I love the gun! It shoots only shorts, bolt action, and a tube feed from the butt of the stock. I can post photos at a later date if anyone is interested. It is all original. From what i've been searching on the computer, guys can't find parts, and can't find information on it.

Any info would be appreciated, or if wanting to buy it, put an offer on the table. PLEASE NOTE * I do not barter or wheel & deal. One offer, if I don't like it, I'll refuse it politely.

Thanks!

Learned how to gopher shoot on one of them. With only using shorts you learned that head shots were the only way to collect bounties. So every shot had to connect.
Did that Alberta fur depo guy get ahold of you for it ?

Also:
"The Savage model 1911 introduced in 1911 and discontinued 1915. The rest is taken from Kimmels book:
The model 1911 repeater was a unique bolt action repeating rifle patterned after the modern military service arm. The chief claim to unique design lay in the magazine type. It was chambered for 22 shorts only and the magazine was located in the buttstock loaded through the buttplate. The capacity was 20 cartridges.
The rifle was short and light, weighing but 4 pounds and having a 20" barrel. The price in 1911 was $6.50. Stock was American Walnut with a shotgun type steel buttplate. A metal bead front sight was standard and the rear sight was an adjustable flat-top open type located on the barrel.

I've seen these guns with a factory rear peep sight that sat just in front of the chamber. I also have found a Marbles S4 peep sight for my model 1911 which was correct for the model...."
