Post subject: | Home tanning a moose hide. |
I kept a piece of moose hide this year, its a off a front quarter. Figured Id try to home tan it. Whats my best option? Id like to keep it hair on. Probly wont be for garments, maybe lay it on the floor in front of the wood stive or somthing |

Aluminum sulphate worked ok on a couple deer hides I did. But it’s not a waterproof tan. If you want something that doesn’t resemble plywood when your finished thin with a belt sander and break it a lot. Pickle, thin, pickle, thin...... |
