Will the oily residue from the Hunter's and Trapper's Hide Tanning Formula evaporate from the hide's fur, or do you need to wash it off? Or brush it out? Thanks in advance. |

That oily residue will not wear off. You need to wash the fur once more in cool water to completely clean the fur. I use that stuff a lot and found that when I apply the solution, I roll the fur up and let it sit for a few days. Then the leather only soaks up the solution but does not begin to dry. Then I give it a final wash, and lay it out to dry. This way you always have a nice tanned clean hide. Hope that helps. Ryan |

That's the formula in the orange bottle? Is it good enough to tan a pelt for a fur hat? |
