Measure your carcass with the hide off, if wet tanned correctly you shouldn't get any shrinking, in fact a lot of times you will get a little more streach. It is when hides are dry tanned and done into rug's is where you get the so called shrinking. If you are mounting it yourself keep the hide in the sealed plastic bag in the freezer untill you are ready for your 1st test fit, then keep rolled up in a cool area untill the finail mounting is done, you can also spray the leather side of the hide down with luke warm water before mountin and give it a good streatch. hope this helps you can personail message me if you have any more questions. i'm better at taxidermy than spelling...

If the form is too big sand it down, if the form is two small by an inch and a half width or lenght cut the form down the center for width and the middle for lenght and add a 2 by 4 which will give you the inch and a half fill remaining area with foam you use for insulating, then sand to shape.

Matt it's hard to tell from these pics but the 2nd one seems to have a little more facial detail, it will also be easier to do your relief cut's in the arm pits on this form, and if you needed to cut the form down both would be easy. i also think it looks a little more natural and would be easier to achieve a realastic base which i assume you would be making too.
