Post subject:  The Natural Resources Road Act BC

Ive got some questions regarding this proposed new act. What impact is this going to have on outdoor enthusiasts in bc regarding access? Is this new act have to do with oil and gas exploration? Is it being fast tracked while present government is in office? The privatisation of the vancouver island lands , have made it almost neccessary to cross private lands to enter crown lands , or public lakes. Recently new signage has been posted across V.I. from the private land holding timber companys stating no access , unless written permission. What are my rights? I am a licenced trapper without a registered trapline, hunter, and fisherman. December 15/2011 is the deadline for submissions , concerns, input ,etc. Any information regarding this would be very helpful, as I have my doubts about the transparency of the act and what it entails. This is the government site for this act http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/mof/nrra/index.htm Ive also found this, as Alberta ,and the U.S have this in the works: The International Public Access Management Plan, and hers an exerpt from it: (At the end of the work, perhaps the overriding lesson is that access management is one of the most difficult land use planning problems. THIS IS PARTICULARLY TRUE WHEN THE OBJECTIVE INVOLVES DENYING PUBLIC USERS ACCESS TO EXISTING ROUTES. hers some possible sources of BC's new road act. http://issuu.com/foothillsresearchinsti ... tudy_final
