When is best to pluck a fur?

Before or after it's tanned?

Thanks

As I recall its after or in the middle of the tan.
Mudry does a controlled rot of the skin to loosen all the guard hairs then they scrape the skin fur side up with special scraper and chalk to put friction on the guard hairs pulling them out. The final product is hand plucked for quality.
