The reason I put it in the General Topics and then here is more people see it in General. I am currently tanning a fox pelt that I prepared for a hunter who shot it in the Dec. shotgun controlled hunt and wanted it tanned. This is the second one have have done and the same thing is happening. Some of the hair on the tail is pulling out in CLUMPS. I follow the TANNING FORMULA directions to the letter and they turn out great, but why is the hair pulling out. The foxes are prime but the tail hair was pulling out a little when i was brushing out burrs and dirt but the tail is the last hair to fall out for spring or winter -right? Any help would be appreciated. |

Did you split the tail ?? If not the tail has slipped the fur. |
