Hey guys wanted to know if you can tan a yote once it's stretched? Am I right in thinking you would have to dampen it first. I turned one a little late and tore it and want to make use of it. |

Why not just moisten and sow the hole? Is it a big hole? I have done this with many fox that rip at the front legs when turning. Paul |

If you want to tan it once it's dry, submerge it in salt water for a few days changing the salt water daily. Put about 1 cup salt to 1 gallon water roughly. After a few days the hide will be fully moistened and then you can go ahead and tan it using whatever tan you wish. The hide will moisten within a day, but make sure the face and nose is moistened too. That is what takes the time |
